Lighting Stages, Crafting Stories, and Simplifying Life
Hi, I’m Tyson Brooks—a storyteller, creative, and lighting artist discovering how simple living can spark extraordinary creativity. Recently, my family and I made a transformative move to Evanston, Wyoming, where simplifying life has amplified my creativity in ways I never imagined.
Where It All Began: The Power of Light
My journey started early, inspired by family outings to the theater. I was fascinated by how lighting could transform a simple stage into something magical. This passion led me to Salt Lake Community College, where I honed my skills in lighting design, production technology, and tools like Vectorworks and ETC’s EOS systems. Today, I strive to elevate storytelling through the art of lighting, creating unforgettable experiences for audiences.
Beyond the Stage: Stories Across Mediums
My creativity extends beyond theater into the world of story writing. From space exploration and lunar colonization to tales of cursed towns, I write stories that span genres and spark imaginations. With the help of AI tools, I’ve overcome challenges in structure and focus, bringing my ideas to life through novels, plays, and more.
Inspired by Innovation
Drawing from my grandfather’s legacy as an electrical engineer, I’ve developed a love for electronics and low-voltage microcontrollers. This curiosity and thirst for learning keep me on the cutting edge of creative and technical fields.
Our Journey to Intentional Living
In 2023, my family and I embraced a bold shift: trading our 2,100 sq ft home in Utah for a cozy 980 sq ft space in Wyoming. This downsized lifestyle has sparked a passion for whole-food cooking, transforming recipes into healthier versions, and discovering joy in simplicity. Through my blog, I share our family’s adventures in intentional living—proof that less can truly be more.
Balancing Creativity and Family
As a proud husband and father, I’m driven to craft stories that resonate—whether through stage lighting, the written word, or the simple beauty of everyday life. My goal is to inspire meaningful experiences that connect with others.

However, transitioning from robotic to human operation presents challenges, including unforeseen issues with automated systems and the harsh lunar environment, along with political and economic pressures on Earth. As Artemis Base evolves, it serves as a proving ground for technologies needed for future Mars colonization, with protagonists Eva, Daniel, and Ben playing crucial roles in both lunar operations and Mars mission planning.
